Postpartum Doula

As a postpartum doula, I support the entire family—mother, father, newborn, and siblings—during the tender weeks following birth. My role goes beyond assisting; I am trained to observe, assess, coach, and gently guide parents as they navigate new rhythms, challenges, and skills.

I help parents build confidence as they discover their own style and approach to parenting. Support may include breastfeeding guidance, infant sleep patterning, soothing a fussy baby, and hands-on help with home organization—such as setting up and maintaining the nursery, baby-care stations, bottles, and breast milk storage.

Equally important, I provide emotional support for the new mother. I offer a safe, listening space to talk through feelings, decisions, and the transition into motherhood—supporting her in becoming the kind of mother she envisions and creating the family life she desires.

One of the most valuable services I offer is overnight care. By gently watching over and comforting your newborn through the night, parents and siblings are able to rest and restore. When a baby is soothed without fully waking, healthy sleep rhythms can begin to form early. Parents also receive individualized guidance on their baby’s unique comfort needs, sleep positions, and factors that may disrupt rest.

Additional Support Services

In addition to birth and postpartum doula support, I offer gentle, complementary services that some families choose to include as part of their overall care. These offerings focus on comfort, education, and natural approaches to well-being, and are always intended to complement — not replace — professional medical care.

Available Offerings May Include:

  • CranioSacral Therapy and gentle hands-on support

  • Homeopathy and natural remedies education

  • Prenatal & Newborn Parent Education Classes

Prenatal & Newborn Parent Classes

These classes are designed for parents who want practical, confidence-building education in a calm and supportive environment. No prior experience is necessary.

Sessions may be offered as a short intensive (two in-home sessions), allowing time between meetings to practice skills, absorb information, and bring questions or concerns to the next session.

For first-time parents, I often recommend a series of four 2-hour sessions:

  • Two sessions before birth

  • Two sessions during the baby’s first three months

Families welcoming twins or triplets face unique challenges, but with thoughtful preparation, education, and support, those early months can be peaceful and manageable.

Investment

  • Two-Session Intensive (Crash Course) – $180

  • Four-Class Series (up to 2 hours each) – $300

In-home sessions provide personalized, hands-on learning tailored to your family’s specific needs and goals.

A Foundation in Integrative Care

My foundation in natural and integrative care began early. Raised by physician and nurse parents in a large family — alongside a grandmother who was a skilled midwife with deep knowledge of natural remedies — I grew up witnessing both medical and traditional approaches to care working side by side. That balanced perspective continues to inform and enrich my work today.

Care Plans & Fees

My rates vary depending on each family’s unique needs. Factors include the number of hours requested, the number of babies requiring care, and any additional specialty services included. Travel time and fuel costs are considered when services extend beyond my local area.

Many families choose a monthly retainer, which allows for flexibility with additional hours or unexpected calls while ensuring priority availability. Retainers may include a combination of scheduled and unscheduled support. Individualizing care for each family helps create a calmer, more supported beginning.

How I Support Families

Postpartum doula services generally support families during the “4th Trimester,” or the first three months of a newborn’s life. In some situations, care may transition into a part-time nanny role beyond this period. Nanny care typically follows the parents’ established routines and parenting style, with consults available for developmental guidance as needs arise.

When parents desire a more autonomous caregiving role—where I am asked to plan schedules and make daily care decisions—this may involve adjusted compensation, benefits, and transportation considerations.

Postpartum Doula Care

  • $35/hour for one newborn

  • $40/hour for twins

  • $45/hour for triplets

Nanny Services (established client families)

The services I offer are non-medical, educational, and supportive in nature, and do not involve diagnosis or treatment of medical conditions. Families are encouraged to continue working with their chosen medical providers for all medical care.
